Covid 19 information

Jeake’s House is now open from 29th July 2020, however you will find that during these unprecedented times, we have had to make some alterations to the ways that we do things here, based on current Governments guidelines.

The Safety and wellbeing of our Guests and staff is our number one priority.

As a business, we are working tirelessly to reduce the risk and prevent the spread of COVID-19 amongst our guests, employees and the general public.

We have added control measures to our normal cleaning schedules to assist with this and these will be reviewed daily in accordance with government advice.

These important guidelines are for everybody’s health and safety and respectfully we ask that you spend some time to read these over.

Upon arrival you will also be requested to allow a non-contact temperature to be taken from your forehead. If your temperature reading is above 37.5 deg C, unfortunately you will not be able to stay at Jeake’s house. This is in order for us to be able to protect other guests and our staff.  We strongly advise you to take your temperature before leaving home.

Our staff members will have their temperature taken on arrival and will be keeping a safe distance and we would ask that you respect the same distances for the safety of yourselves, other guests and our team members.

Face coverings are advised when in communal areas.

We are operating a reservation system for breakfast and this must be booked at check in.

Our breakfast room and bar are open but social distancing will be required at all times in these areas.  The bar area will be regularly disinfected.

We ask that you wash your hands for at least 20 seconds each time you arrive at, or depart from your room.

There are hand sanitisers in reception and the breakfast room – please use them regularly.

All rooms are thoroughly cleaned between each guest visit and strong antibacterial cleaners are used throughout in the bedrooms and bathrooms

All guest room handles and switches and other high touch areas are cleaned with antiviral and/or strong antibacterial cleaner

All public area handles and banisters are cleaned with an antiviral and/or strong antibacterial cleaner on a regular basis.

Some soft furnishings have been removed from the bedrooms.

Hospitality trays will be completely replenished for every new stay.

We would ask that you familiarise yourselves with the fire instructions displayed in your room. It is against the law to smoke anywhere in this building.

Please take your room key with you when you go out.

At the end of your stay, please vacate your room by 11am.  You are welcome to leave your car in our car park. There is just enough space in the car park to accommodate all guests so please park considerately.  If you are travelling by train, we are happy to store your luggage for the day.

When settling your bill please try to avoid the busy breakfast period. If you need to leave promptly in the morning please settle your bill the day before.  Contactless payment can be taken and we will email you a copy of your bill.

Thank you for choosing Jeake’s House and we hope that you have an enjoyable stay, despite the changes to our usual service and offering.  We would like to thank you for your continued support and patience during this time.

Have a lovely stay!
