House Policies
Parking
Parking is very restricted in Rye, so we are pleased to offer guests a guaranteed space in our own private car park. A permit is available at a very small charge. Fortunately, Mermaid Street is two-way, so guests are advised to park outside the hotel for unloading luggage, and once settled in, will direct you to the car park, which is only a few minutes walk back to Jeakes House.
Check in
On the day of your arrival we shall be delighted to welcome you as early as you like. This will give you more time to enjoy the delights of Rye. If your room is not quite ready we are happy for you to relax in our bar and use the car park. If you plan to arrive after 8.00 p.m. then please let us know.
Check Out
Check out time is 11 a.m. We are happy for you to leave your luggage with us and your car in the car park.
Children
Jeake’s House is unsuitable for small children during busy periods. We are, however, happy to welcome younger people in mid-week during the winter when space permits.
StairsÂ
We always stress that parts of Jeake’s House were built in the 16th century, and our stairs and architecture reflect that fact, therefore it may not be suitable for guests with walking difficulties.
Pets
A £5 a night housekeeping fee applies if you bring a dog, and we ask that you don’t leave your pet unattended in your room and that you bring its own bed.
Deposits
In order to confirm your booking we require a deposit of £50.00 (£25.00 for one night stays). Once we have received the deposit a legally binding contract exists between us. We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control.
Cancellations
If for some reason you need to cancel, it is important that you tell us as soon as possible so that we may attempt to re-let your room and minimise your loss. If we receive 10 days notice we will happily refund your deposit (minus a 20% handling fee).
If you do not cancel but fail to arrive you agree to pay for your first nights stay. In the event of your stay being cut short for any reason, the full duration of your booking will be charged. We advise you to take out travel insurance to protect you against possible loss.
