House Policies

Parking is very restricted in Rye, so we are pleased to offer guests a guaranteed space in our own private car park. A permit is available at a very small charge. Fortunately, Mermaid Street is two-way, so guests are advised to park outside the hotel for unloading luggage, and once settled in, will direct you to the car park, which is only a few minutes walk back to Jeakes House.

Jeake’s House is unsuitable for small children during busy periods. We are, however, happy to welcome younger people in mid-week during the winter when space permits.

We always stress that parts of Jeake’s House were built in the 16th century, and our stairs and architecture reflect that fact, therefore it may not be suitable for guests with walking difficulties.

A £5 a night housekeeping fee applies if you bring a dog, and we ask that you don’t leave your pet unattended in your room and that you bring its own bed.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Access, personal cheques, traveller’s cheques and cash. Please make cheques payable to Jeake’s House Hotel.

We require a £50 deposit to secure you reservation and will send you confirmation of the booking upon receipt of your deposit.

Should you have to cancel, the full deposit will be refunded minus a 20% handling fee if we receive 15 days prior notice. If less than 15-days notice, we will gladly refund your deposit if we are able to re-book your room.

Check in time is from 12:30pm. Check out time is 11 am. We are happy to look after your luggage for the day.

In the event of a stay being cut short for any reason, the full duration of each booking will be charged.
